Description of Mizzou Foundry CASTABLE Refractory Compound

Suitable for professional use in numerrous demanding, high-temp applications in the foundry, forging, glass-blowing, heat-treating areas. Mix with water and cast into form to use (detailed instructions included--requires bakeout). 3000F Max Service Temp. Product is intented to be cast into forms and molds--not troweled or hand shaped. To enhance strength, product includes refractory aggregate of up to 4mm size (not recommended for thin refractory castings)

Mizzou CASTABLE Refractory Compound - Impressive Performer!

As a hesitant buyer, I decided to try this refractory compound for my lab tests. I must say, it exceeded my expectations! The compound is easy to mix and pour, and it sets quickly. Its high-temperature resistance is remarkable, making it suitable for industrial and scientific purposes. Full of parts for laboratory chemicals

Filled with pebble sized pieces. It is impossible to obtain a surface that is even remotely smooth or flat. Cancels on contact. At least it didn't catch fire.

Full of pieces at Lab & Scientific Products

I ordered this a little over a month ago and finally got around to using it as I'm out of town for work. The package was sealed and stored dry to this day, but when I opened it, the package was full of hard, pebble-sized chunks. I am very disappointed in this product and will not be ordering from this company again.
