This item was a little pricey but I found it reliable. There is a rubber insert so nothing hits. I agree with some of the other reviewers that it's a bit tricky to set up. For me, the reason was that the drywall anchors that came with it didn't work that well. I was able to fix this with a couple of plastic drywall screws that I had on hand (or can be bought cheaply at a hardware store). My wife loves it. She didn't have enough space and that really helped. You need to know a little how to use a drill press and a bolt finder. If there are no studs, you will have to use plastic anchors. I never recommend large metal mollies as the holes in the drywall are too large and the mollies will loosen over time. Due to the limited space I had to find a way to remove the hair dryer from the vanity top. I checked out Home Depot but they didn't have anything that would work on the limited wall space I had. This little unit hangs neatly in less than five inches, which is what I needed to hang my hair dryer, and the wide slot in the front makes it easy to take the hair dryer out. Just installed this today. I don't understand why I didn't look for something like this a few years ago. It's the perfect way to get your hair dryer off the shelf and out of the way, but keep it handy for regular use. This holder is perfect for our Conair dryer which has a fairly large drum.
