Great for ink testing

This is a beautiful pen that I love to have on my desk. I'm having some trouble writing it consistently and re-digging can get tiring. But for short passages, it's good to use some ink that you might not have just put in a fountain pen.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Can be damaged

Writes as well as my $30 pen - nice too!

writes very well! You might be wondering if something cheap will break, sting you, and give you Lyme disease (or something less catastrophic but still disappointing). But no, it really does write as well as the famous $30 glass pen that I also use.

Pros
  • fingers crossed
Cons
  • vulgarity

Comfortable and smooth!

I use this pen for cursive writing, not calligraphy. It's a pleasure to use with its smooth bold font. The glass nib holds much more ink than a traditional metal nib on a fountain pen. Once you learn how to use it, it will never smudge or stain. If you like bold, wide, flowing marks, this is the pen for you!

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Very expensive

Finally a glass pen that writes well!

glass pen that writes correctly! I have tried several fountain pen inks and most write well. I painted with Bulletproof Black Noodler and Nightshade Noodler and both worked well. Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue also worked. The Bad Kingfisher Belted Noodler didn't work well with this glass pen, the ink just slid off and it was hard for her to write. This is a great glass pen when you use the right ink and smooth paper.

  • finished

Very pretty office and school supplies

This is a great pen, but that's not all. Lately I've been trying to take up journaling just to keep myself mentally balanced, so I have a couple of fountain pens and one of these (to see which style I like best). This lies comfortably in my hand. At the moment it works with all the inks I've bought recently - very watery and really thought out. I'll be getting more of these pens than the metal-tipped ones, at least for writing. This type of pen is not the best for drawing.

  • Quality construction

Better than I expected

Wow! Got it today and used it for the first time. I'm a fan of fountain pens and bought this one to test the ink without having to fill the whole cartridge and it looks great too. Writes better and easier than I expected. The picture shows what I wrote using 1 drop of Noodlers Apache Sunset. The ink differences are obvious and I like to use fountain pen ink. This glass pen is well balanced and feels good in the hand. I'm very tactile when it comes to the feel and weight of my pens. The tip is…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Learning curve

I would give this five stars but it's hard to draw with. I don't blame the pen for how it works or doesn't work. When the ink flowed, it was a pleasure to use. The problem depends on where you are. If the place you are in is too windy or has a lot of drafts, the ink dries quickly on the glass and, as has happened to me, the ink dries out. I went online and tried every method to use it correctly and it worked, but when I used it in a country house or in an air-conditioned room, the ink almost…

  • Free for educational purposes
