Works great with my 2017 Surface Pro

I was trying to set up two monitors on my 5th gen surface pro. That was the answer! Just plug the Mini DisplayPort into your computer (it won't work through a docking station), connect the HDMI cables to your monitors, and you're good to go. I was surprised that all three monitors were recognized.

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Definitely not the most advanced technology you can get but judging by the price it did what I needed needed... just to connect two monitors to my old work laptop. I'm not sure how well this will work with ultra-high resolution requirements, but for spreadsheet and resolution viewing, it works fine.

Pros
  • Only positive result
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Great for extending or mirroring displays

I connected this to my ASUS laptop with a mini display and two HDMI monitors to a Monoprice splitter/extender. Windows 10 recognized it immediately. In the Windows display settings, you can configure the desktop extension to three displays (two via Monoprice's displayport splitter and the third via the laptop display). Works perfect. I was able to easily stream three separate 1920 x 1080p videos to all three screens. The device doesn't require an external power supply like others I've seen and…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Useless features

Will not work with Mac Book Pro Mid 2012

This will not work as described. So I connected to my Mac and it shows up as one. It doesn't give you the option to work with two displays independently on my Mac. The computer recognizes both monitors as one, not two separate objects.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Blunt hardware

Ubuntu 20.04 works best with video cables

Running on Ubuntu 20.04. I have NVIDIA drivers to use NVIDIA-460. nvidia 470 did not work. I also had to disable Secure Boot. I also had to change the refresh rate to 50Hz on one of the monitors, otherwise the colors would be distorted. I just received it so I will continue later.

Pros
  • Good build
Cons
  • Waiting too long

Doesn't work with GeForce GTX 880M or GeForce GTX 1060M

Doesn't work with GeForce GTX 880M or GeForce GTX 1060M. Not sure if it was due to graphics cards or ViewSonic or Toshiba 1080p monitors, but on 880M it randomly disappeared and blocked 1060M with main screen freezing and no signal on connected monitors. Monoprice was very helpful in providing a replacement and subsequent refund which is why I give it such a good rating.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Useless features
