these strain reliefs are an essential tool for anyone who is passionate about computers and networking. They provide a secure grip on the cable preventing it from being accidentally pulled out of the connector .The variety of colors also makes it easy to keep your cables organized and easy to identify. Works well, true to size!

I often run network cables outdoors, so I often break off the RJ 45/48 terminals and replace the connectors. These boots cover the latch plate and prevent breakage when removing and retrieving the cable. A very efficient and cost-effective solution. The plastic is a little stiff, which I need. If the connector is recessed even slightly, it will be much more difficult to push the latch down through the trunk to disengage the connector. Not critical, but something to consider when choosing.
