works as promised

My problem was that I wanted to connect wireless headphones to my new TV. Unfortunately, most TVs don't have an audio output for headphones (funny but true). I looked for a solution in many electronics stores, but all "professionals" told me that this was impossible. Luckily there is google that I was able to use to find a solution. Then I found this adapter, but the question arose what kind of cable is needed. It wasn't easy either. So I ordered a converter and a cable. Sent the first one back

Saved me a bundle

When I bought a new TV with fiber optic audio out I couldn't use the current setting. I have a basic amp and two Boston Acoustic speakers. This setup was great and a relatively inexpensive alternative to soundbars or surround sound systems. An amp that supports Toslink costs me $600. Good device, but check your standard for digital audio output

This device is designed to convert the digital audio output from, for example, your large flat screen TV to line level analogue audio. It can accept as input either an OPTICAL output over fiber optic cable or a COAXIAL output over a standard RCA phono cable from your audio source. The problem I had was that my TV's DIGITAL output was "Dolby" and it turned out that this device wants to use "PCM" encoded digital audio. The end result was that the device did not work with my TV.
