Morning Star fragrances have changed over the years

I have an old box (over 20 years) of Morning Star cedar wood incense sticks. He still smells great. However, the new boxes I bought (Amber, Pine, Vanilla) don't have that strong flavor. Do different fragrances differ in strength? Or could they have changed the recipe or the process, making the flavor weaker? I'm tempted to buy a new case of cedar to compare apples to apples and figure out the answer.

Pros
  • Incense sticks and incense holder

Jaw? Serious? best in Incense Sticks & Incense Sticks

I bought Morning Star Sandalwood and I love it. Pine is a different story. Actually I don't hate it. It has a pleasant aroma that somehow reminds me of my long-dead grandmother. But pine? It doesn't smell like pine needles, pine cones, burning pine, not burning pine or anything else I can think of. I really don't know what's going on here. I'm just burning it And I grew up in northern pine forests. You are not related.

Good but not what I expected

I have happily used Morning Star incense sticks for 45 years. I prefer fine Japanese scents to things I liked when I was younger. I guess I never used the sent pine until recently. At first I was disappointed because I expected it to smell like fresh pine needles or pine sap. So I was disappointed. Then I realized it smelled like burning pine, and that's okay. It's not my favorite of their messages, but it's pretty cute. I've heard that expectations are a recipe for disappointment. This has ofโ€ฆ
