Amazing for my 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid

I've just bought a used 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and looking at the old cabin air filter made me realize it was NEVER changed. This thing was ugly black and covered in disgusting debris. This filter fits perfectly and is relatively easy to install. It's good that the air in the cabin is now cleaner!

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Easy to install, great value, Genuine Ford/Motorcraft part

Genuine Ford OEM part. Suitable and easy to install. My 2008 Ford Escape Limited did not have a cabin air filter. There's a place for it, but I think it was either optional or the factory forgot to install it. I expected to find a very dirty filter but found nothing. Well I have a 10 minute install now.

Pros
  • Heavy duty construction
Cons
  • Vulgarity

unspecified efficiency

The filter itself was well made and had a thick foam border. The kit also included double-sided tape. indicated that it should be placed. Maybe it's an afterthought and why didn't Ford offer it from the factory. I will leave it for a year and then check how much dirt has accumulated on it.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No paint required

great filter. good price!

The cabin air filter fits my 2009 Ford Escape XLT FWD perfectly and was much cheaper to buy here. The car does NOT come with it from the factory. So when you replace it for the first time, you will find that the area is empty. I did a youtube search for instructions on how to change it and followed them. It took about 10 minutes (and I'm by no means a mechanic). I've found that the air smells a lot better after the filter is installed.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons

Looks like a real OEM.

Great product at a great price. I can't find it commercially and the Fram version seems overpriced. Looks like the one I took out and replaced and I do DIY cars and do everything I can with our cars including changing the oil. He had three bad experiences with a quick lube and I know someone who had a really bad experience at an oil change place that caused $2,000 in damage and he wouldn't admit that he didn't tighten the drain plug and the oil was drained and ruined her Engine.

Pros
  • also understandable for old people
Cons
  • Compatibility

Mercury Mariner Cabin Air Filter

Shipper was fast and well packaged. The air filter was of good quality and fitted perfectly. A bit pricey for what it does, but since new cars don't come with it at all, something is better than nothing. Not sure if I'll change every 12,000 miles like they recommend, we'll have to see how it goes in a year. The Ford dealer wanted $99 for the same filter and a poor old lady in front of me actually believed her offer and bought it. They tried to sell me one during regular service and I saidโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Consistent Test Results
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Cheap part, not dealer fitted

While reading the instructions, at around 20,000 it is recommended to replace "cabin filter (if any)". My curiosity got the better of me and after some Googling I found that this part is rarely installed by the dealer. I opened the place where the filter goes and in fact there was no cabin filter. I called the dealer and local auto parts stores and the price seemed to be between $25 (dealer) and $20 (AutoZone). I checked out Revain and found it to be $10 cheaper than the retailer! I ordered itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Annoyed
