Mounting HFEIX Conversion Bracket Install Review

This bracket is not worth your time or money. Through trial and error, I found that it does not fit properly and requires additional tools to work. It also scratches easily, which can damage your hard drive. I had high hopes for this product, but sadly it just does not deliver.

This bracket is ideal for installing a 2.5" SATA drive into a 3.5" drive bay. But it doesn't work for 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Most of my SSDs only have screws on the side of the case. This holder uses screws on the bottom to hold the drive. These brackets require an additional bracket for the attachment point in order to be able to screw in the discs from the side.

This bracket kit is useful when installing SSDs in older PC cases that don't have 2.5" drive bays, or when you want the mounting points for 2.5" drives in run out of new buildings. The mounts won't work in all situations (details below) but they come in a good kit that contains most of the parts you'll need for a successful installation. The mounts themselves are of reasonable quality to do their job. At 0.7mm, the metal is thinner than the 1.0mm you'll find on higher end parts, but that's okay
