Throw away the cartridge and get an acrylic sheet.

Poor quality pickup unless you like screeching sibilance and boomy mids. Replaced the disc with an acrylic upgrade and installed an old Ortofon F15E MkII. Once you finally get your hand right, the table starts singing.

Pros
  • Easy tune
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Entry Level TT Supplies

Nice smooth black base and heavy. So far, everything is fine with the cartridge, you just need to decide how to replace it. I can switch to an acrylic sheet once it intrigues me. It's a manual player, no automatic functions, so simple but correct. Run the sound through a tube preamp, an SS amp and just a KEF Q10 to tune and it's beautiful!

  • Quality Construction

  • Annoying

Fantastic player, easy setup and amazing sound

Incredibly honest and clear sound, especially when fed through a good set of studio monitors. I want to upgrade my sound system for this great turntable. It was easy to set up, even for a relative novice like me. works very well with this setting. I've been living with it for almost 4 months now and have absolutely no complaints.

Decent product, suitable for turntables

I originally ordered a 2.2 turntable which has been discontinued. Instead they sent me 2.3, an update. The sound quality is better than the 2.2 and the stylus holder is different and seems easier to swap out if needed. The only thing that bothers me is that when you first turn on the player, there's a slight metal-on-metal noise, like something being pulled. Lasts a second or two, then passes. I couldn't figure out what caused it. Otherwise I like the 2.3 player.

Pros
  • As before everything
Cons
  • No power

A well built machine that will stay with you forever

Fantastic well built turntable. Remember, the more you spend on a turntable, the less frills you get. Here are some tips to help you master your player. 1-Learn about the pen, what makes it sound. 2-Buy a needle scale (reliable investment), don't trust the scale on the back of the tonearm. Use the scale to set the correct weight for your stylus. 3. Purchase a dial-type protractor to set the needle correctly. The Hudson Hi-Fi Strobe and Protractor Mat are a great investment. 4. enjoy

Produces a beautiful sound.

Disclaimer: NOT AUDIOPHIL, just loves listening to music. No technical data, just the overall impression of this player. Music Hall MMF 2.3 combines beauty and sound. Looks like a high end TT, sounds fantastic. The pre-installed cartridge is Audio Technica's Music Hall Spirit. The AT95 range will not disappoint but can be upgraded if desired. Set up was quick and easy, vinyl beginners can tune this TT. The speed is pretty accurate. Carbon fiber tonearm, very stable. with TT have excellent…

Great quality for your money and hard work.

If you hesitate between buying the Rega Planer 1 or Music Hall, that's no problem. Get the music hall. I bought two planes and ended up returning due to noisy engines and a faulty hint system. The materials for the planner felt cheap and the workmanship wasn't as good as the Music Hall. The music hall is more adjustable and has more features such as leveling feet, anti-roll adjustment, and fits any secondary cartridge. This is a beautiful turntable and you will not regret buying it. Vinyl sounds rich and alive!

My 30 year old Bang & Olufsen record player's cartridge/stylus has finally decayed and it only costs $350+ to replace it (cheap cartridge only!). After a lot of research I finally settled on this deck, still expecting to be a bit disappointed after so many years of B&O. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound and performance of this TT! My vinyl now sounds alive, with a richness and detail that the old B&O no longer offered! I enjoyed listening to the old recordings again. I live in an
