I like this amplifier -REALLY-! It arrived a few weeks earlier than expected so great job but more importantly it arrived in perfect condition with the pipes already installed. READ THE MANUAL! Do not turn it on without first connecting it to your speakers, or you could "lock" it. The X7 has two modes: Ultra Linear (aka Normal) and Triod. (May 11th 2021) After almost 2 years of ownership it has only gotten better. I replaced the 12ax7 and 12au7 tubes with NOS 50s and the rectifier tube with a 1958 GE Copper. I have to say I am very impressed with this amp. The build quality is great, looks great and weighs almost 50 pounds. it feels like quality. I let it warm up for half an hour and then checked the offset. It was very close to spec and only needed a little tweaking to get it right. This task is made easier with dial buttons and gauges. ***UPDATE*** It's a bit annoying and you don't have to do it, but taking the device apart and spraying some CorrosionX (red can) in the volume pot has significantly improved the loudness volume control. CorrosionX is safe for electronics, it's sprayed onto circuit boards so I don't think it should be a problem, but it's worth doing your own research.
