Cannot confirm how well they work as the stopper in mine was broken. I've tried shipping a new plug but the only option is to buy replacement valves or return them for exchange which is a pain because I have two kids and it's a nightmare to pick them up from the store. Thank you Nalgen.

My 5 year old has dropped it many times and it hasn't broken yet. Easy to clean in the dishwasher (top shelf). Very happy with this water bottle. We only use it for water, I wouldn't use this type for other drinks.

Deducted one star because my daughter (3) tends to bite/nibble on the lid and the plastic comes off very easily. But she loves those bottles and prefers them to mugs, probably because she can roll them around and off the couch without getting in trouble.

My mother has several toys for all the children at home. I bought two for my 13 months. The daughter she loved at the Grammys. But at home she gets no water from it. I've played with the valve on each one, trying to soften it? Too hard, but we're still trying as we hope it "breaks in". In the meantime, I have to offer her other cups (which I hate) to make sure she's getting enough fluids throughout the day.
