The holder box is cheap, the weights also look a bit cheap. I'm pretty sure they aren't accurate to 4 digits, that's for sure. But if all you need is single or double decimal precision, that will probably do the trick. One day I want to have real quality standards. This isn't one of those days.

Not used for jewelry. I weigh the ingredients for the glaze and clay on my wife's electronic diet scale. Don't worry about large amounts like over 50 grams. under 50 grams was a question. I checked the weights separately and they checked perfectly. On my scale or my wife's scale I now know that 7 grams of cobalt oxide is 7 grams.

I bought this kit to calibrate and test new scales. I can't 100% say they are accurate but after calibrating my scale using 100g weight, 50g like 50g, 5g like 5g etc. I had to remove the star because the case broke went. Both hinges were torn off, a piece of plastic had broken off at the front. The package came in a regular postal package with no lining. Either use stronger plastic or invest in bubble wrap please!

Everything is in order with this set, but there is no claim to internal correctness. So. The manufacturing processes of the manufacturer give the product +/- tolerance without additional calibration effort. A traceable calibration can cost hundreds of dollars depending on the intended use. The primary manufacturer's statement of internal accuracy helps the user determine the suitability of the weights for their intended use.

I've tested these weights on a few different weights that have been calibrated with more expensive weights at the lab I work at and for cheap calibration weights they seem to do the job - all weights are within +/- 0.05 grams .its declared value. The build quality leaves a lot to be desired - the chrome finish is pitted and scratched, and the tiny 5g weight has a particularly ugly curve to the 'bar' at the top of the weight.
