Cheap and easy for camera and photography

Perfect. They do what they're supposed to do, they're cheap, easy to store, you can throw them in a gearbox and not worry about them.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Group too big

The color selection is good, but since the blue stripe is so large, I couldn't test it with my Nikon SB-5000, SB-700, or SB-500 flashes. In an attempt to find an alternative I tried using a rubber band but it doesn't hold the filters just enough. Tape can work, but will reduce the number of uses of gel.

Great for creative people

These are amazing gels. They come in a sealed Velcro pouch and are color coordinated. The only downside is the tape that wraps around the flash head and holds the gels in place. It was too big for my particular flashes. There's nothing a rubber band can do. They are great to use on multiple flashes for different effects (e.g. contrasting colors for portraits. Illuminate background with one color when using warm skin tones. Worth checking out

Read before you buy Filter

Had to change my rating. Sure, these little gels look cool, but they don't stay on your flashlight at all. They are not compatible with Altura flashes. It should just sit securely on the neewer. I'm giving it 4 stars because if you use a rubber band or hair tie around the flash they work really well for you. They are of excellent quality so there is no need to give a bad review for a small flaw. I'd say buy them, but be aware that the blue rubber strap won't do anything if you're buying them on

NOT FOR COLOR CORRECTION

The description of this protector specifically states "Helps improve image color balance, ideal for photo studios with LED flash." Orange, not amber. They are NOT what you need if true color grading is your goal. As you can see compared to blush gels these are correct. Spend a few bucks more and buy blush gels unless you like Ooompa Loompa people in your photos. I've included two examples of blush gels that are the correct CTO color and neewer gels that are too orange. I buy a lot of Neewer…

Great product, the first set of filters I've found useful.

Awesome! First, the simple duct tape holding it works great. It's this little thing that would have helped me in the past if I had bought other filters. Of course, a rubber band could have helped, but it wasn't the best option, and sometimes crimson tape had to be used. In the end, it's a nice touch to turn on, meaning you don't have to take any extra steps to connect. As for the filters, they are excellent in tests so far. I'm really surprised how well they work. I used to buy filters, some of

They work. But it's a job to take them further.

Shot with Canon 600ex-rt flashes. The gels do a pretty good job of altering the light in the way you would expect. There are enough correction filter options to suit my needs. Thanks to the range of gels included in the kit, I can now play with artistic colors even more. No, individual gels are not labeled. But I fixed it pretty easily with a set of markers. The storage bag feels comfortable. It keeps all transparencies and index cards in one place, provides good wrinkle protection for…
