I bought this to test UPS batteries. Some drop to zero because they're really bad, while others come with higher readings, suggesting they're marginal. I was able to test a whole range of batteries from failed UPS rack trays and collect the strongest ones in a working UPS rack tray.

  • Handsfree

Five stars with care

My first readings showed my 650CCA battery was at 1000CCA. I cross-checked the DC voltage with two other meters and found that the stress tester gave high readings. I used the adjustment screw on the face of the meter to calibrate the DC voltage on my meters and retested the battery charge. Presto, over 600 CCAs. If you look around you'll see that it's the same device sold under different names at double the price.

Excellent tools for diagnostics, testing and measurement

It's not a complex device - just a large 100A resistor at 12V and a simple analogue voltmeter and because it's so simple it can also be used with 6- V systems work. That's enough to give your car's battery and charging system a pass/fail rating, and it costs a lot less than the mechanic's first half hour. In my case, it helped me realize that my RV batteries were fine and I just misadjusted the switches to charge them. Great deal for me!

Great for the price!

It works exactly as advertised. I had some minor battery issues with a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek during the recent cold weather. Slow rotation at launch. I got this guy and he showed that the battery, charging system and starter are fine. I only needed a battery charge because I didn't ride enough. Good tool for the price. I'll check the bike's battery. this sucker did not start for several months.

Great load tester at a great price!

Ordered one of these to keep track of my 12v in my hybrid (non hybrid battery). The car won't run if the 12V fails, so that's handy. Very easy to use, good build quality. I checked the batteries of all my cars and those of my neighbors, I found a pretty weak one, so I think the tester has already paid for itself. Not something you'll use all the time if you don't have a fleet, but it comes in handy before you have a problem. For the price paid this is a great addition for the workshop mechanic…
