Description of 🐠 Brightwell NeoTiger KH+/GH+ - Optimal Mineral Balancer for Shrimp and Freshwater Aquariums in Purified and Soft Water

Establishes an optimal mineral balance in water that has been purified (reverse osmosis, deionization) or is exceedingly soft (well water in forested regions) for all freshwater shrimp aquaria, as well as aquaria housing fishes indigenous to forested and/or riverine habitats. Provides a beneficial ratio of potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sodium, elements which are vital to the overall health and osmoregulation of fishes, invertebrates, and many aquatic plants. May be used to establish water parameters, to replenish depleted concentrations in tanks that rarely receive a water change, and to re-establish beneficial mineral concentrations in aquaria following large water changes. Formulated utilizing extensive data on the ionic composition of river water from several tropical forested regions. Age range description: All Life Stages.

Great product for small aquaria

Very handy for small aquaria, 1 pump per gallon of water brings KH to about 35ppm and about 80-100ppm GH. I have a 5 gallon tank of filtered water, I only need 1 gallon = 1 pump per water change. If you simply pump the product into the aquarium, cloudiness may appear, but it will disappear fairly quickly. Also, shrimp are sensitive to changes in water parameters, so you should only do this in small amounts at a time. In large aquariums, this product is quickly used up.

Very easy to use product

The ratio of response to a given amount of water is clearly stated on the bottle and gives a very clear indication of what changes you can expect. 500ml bottles have a plunger at the top, and each time you press it, the exact amount of product stated on the bottle is dispensed. The Gh/Kh ratio is again very precise and the result is a very constant water quality. This material is designed for use with RO or RO/DI water, but can be used with other relatively soft water if you have access to it…

Something is wrong here

As you may also think, I bought this product because it is the cheapest product. The first batch was lost so I bought another as I needed a water change asap. When testing these two bottles, I noticed that the concentration in the bottle is extremely low. I had to add 4-5 times as many pumps to get the results the instructions say. It took about 15 pumps to raise a 5 gallon bottle to GH 8, Kh 5-6. The water was a little cloudier than usual, but I still did a 20% water change. It's been 1 week…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • I say nothing
