1 of 6 Cannot DOA, register or contact support

Bought two of these systems (6 access points) for use in an integrated mode in our office and in production. Ensemble mode didn't work until I updated the firmware on all APs. Once updated and added to the original ensemble, they set themselves up almost automatically. Unfortunately 1 AP was DOA and connecting the console cable showed a poor picture with no option to transfer via Flash or TFTP. 6 Access points via the internal access point registration pop-up or on the Netgear website do not…

Disappointing range, update

So far the range isn't great even with external antennas. The hull looks excellent and weatherproof. I have no doubt it will withstand harsh conditions, but the range appears to be around 100 feet. After giving my 3 star rating I have been working and progressing a lot more with the device hence I am changing it to 4 stars. Valuation. Instead of fighting obstacles, I removed my antenna to clean it and improve reception. I'm unlikely to check client connection limits and I'm concerned about…

Significant improvement in wireless coverage speed and stability

We only had two different brand WiFi devices in the office and it didn't quite cover everything, also one device dies right after a year so I'm with one other brand not satisfied. We already had a netgear prosafe witch and never had a problem with it so we took it. The range of these devices is amazing, I have one at each end and one in the middle of the office. Now everyone has good coverage, including in the parking lot. Yes, we have good coverage in the parking lot and from indoor units. I…

We are a managed services provider (IT support company) for small businesses and small businesses medical institutions. (5-50 employees). Most of our customers are fine with standalone wireless access points like the NETGEAR R6300. For more complex/rugged installations we used SonicWall SonicPoints. Unfortunately, SonicPoints leave a lot to be desired, particularly when it comes to range, speed, and handover, which eventually ended up in the market for a business-class, centrally managed…

Excellent commercial grade APs

I am an IT professional with over a hundred of these APs installed at customer premises (hotel guest wifi, secure office wifi for general business or POS, multi-site installations where they were laid cables between sites is not possible private houses). These are NOT the easiest access points for hobbyists to install, but once they work, the reliability and signal strength are legendary. required to use it) and they offer phone support for the first 90 days after purchase if you register the…

Computers and Accessories Definitive Update

I've decided to upgrade to a WAC720 at home and disable Wi-Fi on my old 802.11N router provided by my ISP (Verizon Fios). I set up an access point with POE on the top floor of my house. Great sign. Easy setting. The unit appears to be high quality and the warranty is great if I ever need to use it. Online check-in was easy. Get great speeds. Between phones, smart TVs and streaming boxes, laptops, iPads, and even a thermostat, your home is starting to compete with your business in terms of…

Junk Electronics Best in Computers & Accessories

I bought this NETGEAR ProSAFE WAC720 for my business and it didn't work at all! I sent the first one back and even exchanged it for another - to no avail. Another thing is the trauma of waiting for NETGEAR tech support. I was literally on the phone with tech support guys from the Philippines who went out of their way to work overtime. Each time I was assured that everything would work in a few days and nothing happened. My company's Facebook page just wasn't showing up or didn't allow access…
