Should be defective? to my rating.

Shocked to see a hole where the rubber toe meets the net after owning this shoe for four months. I wear my shoes alternately between two other pairs of shoes, one exactly the same shoe but much older with no problems. The photos show the defect, the general condition of the shoe and very minor signs of wear. this review and appeals to me to replace it.

Pros
  • I love these shoes
Cons
  • Lack of support can cause leg fatigue

These are the best shoes for my feet

I wear size 14 6E shoes and use custom orthotics. The 1540 features an SL-2 last that fits my foot better than any other shoe. They have been out of stock for a few years and I was lucky enough to get the only pair in stock a few weeks ago. Although these are running shoes, I mainly use them for walking and commuting. Ortho shoes have more cushioning and are lighter on my 72 year old knees, but they are more stable and fit much better.

Pros
  • HOW1
Cons
  • May not be available in many sizes

Costs money! the best in my rating

If you want a carefree athletic shoe, go for this one. I have wide flat feet and am still training at 40. This shoe offers immediate comfort and excellent stability. We're going to do New Balance. Finally a shoe I don't have to worry about.

Pros
  • I like the feel, the comfort, the fit. I wear them for daily activities.
Cons
  • Shoes can be difficult to break in

Ideal for hyperpronators

They fit and look great with great stability. I wear 16 extra wide which are very hard to find especially when you need a stabilizing shoe for overpronation. Fit in place. The insoles are easy to remove for my custom orthotics, although the included insoles seem very comfortable if you don't need a custom fit. I wear mine to work every day and after a few months they still look almost brand new.

Pros
  • Nothing
Cons
  • Shoes cannot withstand heavy use well

Lower my judgment

So I wear 8.5 on men because I wear 10 on women but they were big I could have gone with 8 had to wear them with two socks they return.

Pros
  • These are the best shoes for my flat feet with arthritis. However, they became difficult to find. Please leave this in production...
Cons
  • Can be overpriced for the quality and performance offered

They support my flat feet

I bought this product on purpose because my flat feet hurt. As long as they feel good under my feet. I feel safer when walking.

Pros
  • Comfortable shoes for my flat feet.
Cons
  • quality not expected

Great shoes for running and walking

I have bought these shoes many times. I find them very comfortable and they give me great cushioning and stability. I wear one pair for running and another pair for daily walking. I have very wide feet and am glad they come in a very wide (6E) width option.

Pros
  • Great shoe for support. Keeps me from pronating.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with flat feet

Made in Vietnam, not the USA.

Ordered these shoes for my dad, he wanted them because they want them to say "Made in USA". We have this and it doesn't say Made in the USA, not even on the flag

Pros
  • Satisfied with product, performance and price
Cons
  • May not provide adequate cushioning

I couldn't find my exact New Balance shoe size.

I have ordered this shoe twice. The first was my bad. I chose 14V. Too narrow! So the second time I ordered broad, hoping for 14D, but I got 2E. I gave the shoes to Goodwill. The problem is that New Balance sells shoes in exact sizes, but for larger sizes, use "narrow, wide, or extra wide" instead of numbers. I ended up losing almost $200 because I couldn't order these shoes in the exact size I needed and instead had to guess based on your descriptions.

Pros
  • Bought these for my uncle and he said they help him walk.
Cons
  • Shoes can cause blisters or pain due to poor fit

Extremely uncomfortable

I'm a big fan of New Balance and I'm usually happy with every purchase. In this case, however, I found the 1540s extremely uncomfortable, with little to no padding to absorb long walks. You had very little feeling between your feet and the ground. Absolutely terrible model from New Balance.

Pros
  • Very comfortable to walk. The extra width is great for those of us who need it. Shoes are quality, no doubt.
Cons
  • May not provide adequate grip on wet or slippery surfaces.

N/B 1540 V3 vs 1540 V2

I've been wearing the New Balance 1540 V2 for quite some time now. My podiatrist recommended them and they work great. I also have an insert that created my document for me. I was disappointed that N/B discontinued V2 and replaced it with V3. . The healing area is NOT as hard as V2 and V3 doesn't seem to work for me. Why N/B had to switch to V3 is beyond me. V2 worked great. The V3 just isn't the shoe that the V2 was. Unfortunately I had to send them back.

Pros
  • Great American shoes at a great price. I would buy 2 pairs.
Cons
  • Doesn't provide enough arch support

Ideal for weak ankles

The New Balance Roll Bar was inspired by my mom, who was recommended (or prescribed) by a podiatrist. They were spent on a pair of shoes but they were worth it. Good firm landing on a step. I get twisted ankles a lot so I usually buy skate shoes with fast soles for stability, but I wanted more normal casual shoes that didn't make me look like a punk! 😜 So far so good.

Pros
  • This shoe is perfect for walking or running... very stable and supportive!
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with heel pain.

Pain points in my review.

The shoes have many unpleasant or even painful pressure points almost immediately after putting them on. This brand has generally lacked quality control lately.

Pros
  • I❤️her
Cons
  • Poor quality materials used in construction

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not the same as other 1540s.

Not like other 1540 shoes, a small tongue that is constantly sucked under the laces. I have 4 other pairs of 1540's never a problem. The shoes are like new, I wore them 3 times. Terrible

Pros
  • Consequence
Cons
  • Shoes can be too tight in some places

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good stability but poor quality for the price

I bought a 1540v3 last summer. The laces are too short to fit through the top holes leaving just enough to tie. The left one developed a hole over the big toe in about three months. They also creaked like crazy for about a month. Otherwise they are comfortable and keep my feet really stable.

Pros
  • Working floor RN. Shoes that were worn on the upper once in three months. On both shoes
Cons
  • The hill was too thick

New Balance shoes - my new test

This is a shoe for my husband who has a narrow foot and finds it very difficult to find a narrow width for men. He loves these shoes because they are very comfortable and it's the only brand he buys.

Pros
  • I LIKE
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with pronation problems.

Works as a support shoe for a healed fractured heel.

My husband broke his heel in a head-on car accident and it couldn't be repaired. This shoe has a stabilizing bar that gives him the extra support he needs.

Pros
  • Shoes are a feel-good factor
Cons
  • It seems to be for support but the heel is worn out. Is there anything that can be done? Past return date.

I hurt myself in these shoes

I am an experienced runner and have worn New Balance for over 20 years. I have gone through many of their models and have always been satisfied. 1540s - pure garbage. The heels are worn out in less than 50 miles and my ankle hurts. Also, their "customer support" is a completely fake name - they don't care. I just don't know what happened to my favorite sneaker company and their products. I will definitely look around for another manufacturer.

Pros
  • I like the feeling of the shoe's secure footing.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for those with foot or ankle problems.

My husband is so happy

My husband has many foot problems. He has pain after standing for a long time, has flat feet and walks on the inside of his foot. He never had a good pair of shoes. It was so hard to find what he needed in store so we decided to try them on before buying. he is so happy He added his orthopedic insoles and says he can stand and walk for long periods without pain. He's so happy and so am I because I don't have to listen to his complaints anymore.

Pros
  • Thank you very much. Excellent product and fast delivery.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with plantar fasciitis.

Has been good for me

I've been wearing New Balance shoes for 10 years. After receiving them I waited to use them until I was done with my last pair of New Balance. I immediately noticed that my right calf hurt after running more than a mile. I figured I'd just have to take them down or something. 2 months later I went to the foot shop (which originally introduced me to NB shoes) and they asked how long I had them. When I told her 2-3 months she giggled and asked where I bought them. I replied shyly. She said they…

Pros
  • The shoes were recommended to me by my DPM. My shoe inserts slipped and fit well. Help with aching feet
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with high arches.
