The sound quality is excellent, especially for such a price. The most impressive part is the picture. I use them both for listening to music and for gaming (mainly because of the great picture). The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars and sending them back is because the mic (the noise transmitted by rubbing the cables) is very loud. I had to stand very still to avoid the mic or the audio would be so loud it would drown out everything I was hearing and spoil my fun.

I wanted an old style headphone so was initially interested in them. Out of the box, I find the overall sound quality to be inferior to the Samsung headphones that came with my Note 4. Without the EQ, I would have preferred the $2 Samsung headphones over them. Why three stars instead of one? The HE100 is more detailed and has a much better image. These are some really interesting sounding headphones. They make the music sound very distant and detailed. Very broad sound and relatively balanced. And, as mentioned in other reviews, they are very good in the picture. One thing about them is that they will never allow vocals or drums to overshadow other parts of your music. I bought these earphones looking for headphones that mimic the smooth surround sound of my Audio Technica A900X and they are absolutely real. If you're playing bass then this won't impress as the bass is present and satisfying but not discernible unless the track is mixed this way. If you're looking for big mids and sweeping highs, you probably won't like these either. be satisfied. I really wanted the HE100, expectations were high. I have an ES100 USB and Bluetooth DAC that I really like. This is still probably the best Bluetooth DAC you can buy for under $100.
