Not very suitable for fast selection. Better than paper towels. It's nice to leave places you know you'll have oil. For example a Bridgeport base or a chip tray for a lathe etc.

soaks up oil, I put it under my chainsaws and any other junk that spills oil, I also have a 55 gallon drum of used oil and I put these mats on top to prevent failure.

Oddly enough, we don't use this product for automotive applications. We have an older cat who sometimes skips the litter box; Cat urine damages wooden floors and has an unpleasant odor. Our auto mechanic (who also has cats) suggested using pig mats under the litter box. Carpets absorb urine and odor quickly. If we see stains on the mats, we just throw them away and roll out a new one to put on top.

I mainly use it for cleaning when changing oil in marine inboard engines. You want the engine bay to be as clean as the garage floor. Whenever you have anything to do with oil you need these mats and I am sure they will work well with other liquids including gas too. They absorb oil and very little of it stays on your hands. My fiancé ordered these for our shop. He uses them at work to scoop up oil and liquids, but buying them locally was a bit more expensive. They're the exact same oil-absorbing towels he uses at work, but they're a little cheaper. I'm sure his employer has no problem with being able to afford the higher price but for personal use when working on our cars and cars for friends this is a much better option. He is very happy with this product and I am sure I will buy more in the future.

I have no idea where this has been all my life! The PIG rug is a great product! I use it now to level my desktop and it makes all the work I do a lot cleaner and more organized.
