Nikon should consider making this WT compatible.

Nikon should consider the compatibility of this WT with all NIKON digital SLR cameras. Otherwise they will be the biggest losers in the digital age in the long term.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Compatibility

It works, not the most convenient thing for .

It works, not the most convenient thing to set up and use. But it does what it was designed to do. Love for what it is and does. Nikon absolutely needs to build Wi-Fi into its mid- to high-end cameras.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Good but not great

Features are nice but bulky and unnecessary

Nikon needed to add wireless to the $6,000 camera it was designed for. Also comes without a protective case - unbelievable - making it impossible to use the L-mount for vertical shooting. While a bit bulky, it still works with the iPad through the Shuttersnitch app. up to 18 meters in place.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Does its job well. fits accessories and consumables

I have bought several of these for several D4 and D4s cameras and they have all held up great. I was a little surprised that some of our photographers put a lot of strain on their cameras when travelling, but we've never had a problem with them breaking or even getting badly scratched. Installation can be a bit painful. if you are at least a little ignorant with network settings (IP address, DNS, etc.). Also, they are great to use.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Expensive but so comfortable

I'm really not sure why it's so expensive but I suspect Nikon thinks you've already bought the D4 so why not raise the prices a bit more ? I'm deducting a star because of the price. Regardless of the price, this device is really usable. I used it last night while filming my daughter's talent show at school. My son sat next to me with an iPad and we could quickly review photos on the big screen while I took each shot. The last photo will automatically appear on your iPad a few seconds after it…

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Doubtful

Handy but expensive

I bought one of these for my D4 which is sometimes used for aerial photography - the camera is mounted on the outside of the plane and the photographer (me!) is mounted in the cockpit. The WT-5A is very comfortable in this mode, and once you get all the issues sorted out, it's actually pretty reliable. Battery life is decent, and build quality is about what you'd expect from Nikon: bulletproof for the most part. The size doesn't matter as users of this equipment mostly use the camera on a…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Somewhat wrinkled

Excellent wireless implementation for D4

I love this wireless. It's small and unobtrusive. I've used it with an iPad and iPhone to control the camera remotely. This is by far the best remote control you can use as you can preview the image on the screen. I also used it to download photos to my computer. It's not as fast as a wired connection or card reader, but still not bad. It's also a great way to view your footage in the field on a big screen. I find it difficult to critique a photo on the D4's 3-inch screen, but I can view photos

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Shoot in style in phone cords

after testing the waters on a camcorder, which incidentally I returned for its maddeningly unscientific looks, awkward "parking" on a DSLR and of course outrageously unreasonable price; Also, juggling extra chargers, wires, and USB cables almost drove me crazy. I have decided to return it to the manufacturer. I ended up giving it a go with the Nikon WT-5 and have a lot to share. If my D4 wasn't a high-end device with a high price tag, I'd live with it, and probably all the camcorder's other…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Speed
