Made for small dogs for ID tags and collar accessories

On the product here was a photo of a medium/large dog, the size wasn't exactly clear, that's all I really need to keep going so I bought it and literally got a miniature dog.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Having problems

Packaging photo is misleading - too small to be visible

it is so small that it is almost invisible and therefore almost unusable. My dog doesn't have that thick a coat but it's completely invisible so I attached it to a mitten for myself but even that is a waste of space. I've seen reviews that it wasn't enough; did not know how small; Sorry I even wasted a few bucks on this. The packaging photo is misleading.

light enough but functional for two hands

First of all, this product is durable. I use a night tracker collar on my 45 pound dogs. She is dark merle. The light produced corresponds to its size and weight. My 4 star rating comes from comparing it to the Nite Ize clip on product. My problem is that it's difficult to rotate the function, but it can be done with one hand. However, two hands are always required to turn it off. A trifle, but just something to know.

Poor construction makes it too easy to fall apart.

Sold as a pet collar so it might appear more pet resistant. You turn it on by screwing the front battery cover (with LED) firmly onto the back half where the battery resides. Off means you need to loosen it up a bit. And therein lies the problem. Once it loosens up a bit, your pet's movement and activity will weaken it even more until it falls apart. The first ten times this happened I found the front and a small battery on the bottom. I didn't do that last time. I wouldn't buy it again because

REQUIRES 2 bulbs per collar

PETLIT gives a more powerful (bigger) light that is easier to see from a distance. Dogs don't need headlamps. Blue Heeler can see perfectly in the dark. We prefer small trinkets like flashlights because the BIG ones will RANDOMLY turn off and on at any time in the field. Bad for safety and bad for the batteries. It's harder, BUT they don't turn off by themselves, especially in a dark garden/street. One on each side of the SS marker for better visibility, and if one fails, the second will showโ€ฆ

Lightweight, comfortable design. It just needs brighter light.

Got this after finding the pink model at my local Petco but didn't have the others in stock. I found these to be lighter than the pink ones and the ones I bought curled a lot easier than the pink ones. It's a nice, compact design that's not too bulky at the collar. The clamp is easy to use and the rotation is a nice feature, making it very difficult to turn it unintentionally. It emits enough light to illuminate the floor for your pet when you leave the house and don't turn on the porch/houseโ€ฆ

An absolute must!

I have them on four dogs and I really like them. All dogs are different breeds and sizes, ranging from 15 to 110 pounds. I find that a little light is perfect for all of them. Although my largest dog is a German Shepherd/Husky mix, I felt that a larger light would be too big or get in their line of sight at night. The little one works great and is light enough to see in the dark (it's bright enough to bounce off the ground so even if you're not looking directly at it you can still see theโ€ฆ
