Ideal for Pi4

I integrated it into a Lego case for Raspberry Pi 4 which Fan runs on one of the Pi's USB 2.0 ports and goes through a simple fan speed controller. It works great! Since it's 5V, I don't have to worry about converting to 12V like I do with most other PC fans.

Pros
  • USB power adapter cable allows the fan to run on devices with USB host ports, power banks or USB power adapters such as those used in smartphones
Cons
  • Weight

You can't go wrong with a Noctua fan!

Excellent workmanship with this fan. The fan is absolutely silent and pushes a lot of air for a 5V fan. One thing I noticed is that if you put a fine filter before or after the fan, the fan doesn't push as much air and makes noise. Fan grills are the only thing you can install that won't lose fan performance.

Pros
  • 5V 3-pin version with reverse polarity protection for industrial applications based on 5V or replacement of 5V fans in various devices
Cons
  • -

My desktop is about 35dB loud when no fan is running, but goes up to 53dB at 180+ hum with Noctua NF-F12 5V- Fan works whether it's plugged into my laptop USB port or a 5V USB charger. Noctua's sound is about the same as the AC Infinity Axial LS1238 Quiet Muffin Fan, 120V, 8W AC, but Axial's sound has a wide range and isn't as noticeable. When installed in a computer case, the sound from Noctua may not be as noticeable.

Pros
  • Award-winning 120 x 25mm Focused Flow design for superb, quiet cooling
Cons
  • Style 90
