🥓 Nordic Ware 2-Sided Round Microwave Bacon and Meat Grill with 10-Inch Deluxe Plate Cover Review

Very durable microwave tray but this lid is a joke. The only thing it fits on is the tray itself - it doesn't fit on a plate - and it holds moisture so water will spill over every time you pick it up. And that's an annoyance too. When you open the microwave to put something in you always have to take the lid off so I took it out one last time and threw it in the trash and now it's perfect.

This item is well made. The downside is that the measurements are wrong. I was looking for a microwavable plate that would easily fit a 10" turntable. They were advertised as 10 inch microwave grills but are actually 10 1/2 inches all around. I can use the inside and cover with paper towel and it will work. Unfortunately, the splash guard gets into the microwave door.

I had one of these for over 10 years before deciding to replace it because of the color (it's difficult to clean completely so my am got greasy at the end). It appears to be the exact same product. There has to be the easiest, most convenient way to cook bacon, and it ends up being crispier and less greasy than in a skillet. The ribs on the side of the grill are too small, as is the reservoir for cooking juices. I got hot juice on my fingers removing cooked meat from the microwave the first time I used it to cook pork loin. It also resulted in a fairly extensive cleaning of the inside of the microwave and counter. I solved this problem by putting 2-3 layers of paper towels under the meat before cooking, but the manufacturer has to change the ribs and depth of the grill side tank to be 3 times larger. There was an old version of the Microvave Nordic Bacon Grill. It was wonderful. After years of using the old model it broke so I bought this Scandinavian bacon and meat grill. The ridged side is very flat and as the bacon cooks the fat comes to the top of the pan and often overflows if I'm not looking at it while cooking. Haven't used the base yet but WISH the lid had a pull tab or could be hung on the wall. At the moment he lives on the microwave with the TV tray and other things on the microwave. I haven't figured out how to hang it so that it's not on a flat surface but next to the microwave.
