Be careful with this fin

I ordered two of these at different times, one as a gift. They appear to be well made and durable and I love this stylish fish lathe (I have a non-stick coating which I like). However, when I first reached into the desk drawer to get it out, I severely cut my hand in several places. I immediately had to call the friend I gave it to and tell her to carefully throw it away too. The woodturner's blade was as sharp as a freshly sharpened knife, which I never would have guessed.

Pros
  • Ideal for whole fish and fish fillets
Cons

Beautiful stainless steel

Beautiful stainless steel. I think the body is riveted to the handle, not tack welded. It's fairly large for most pans, but I've seen it serve a purpose other than flipping fish, like removing a small biscuit from the pan. It was sent in a padded package and our postman stuffed it into our mailbox by bending it a bit and forcing the end of the pen to stick out of the package (was able to bend it back to its original position). Otherwise great and I like it.

Pros
  • An indispensable tool when grilling fish.
Cons
  • Security

Long overdue purchase

Excellent product. Stable, very well made and very practical. I bought this product because I was tired of using regular spatula to turn fish fillets at home. These ordinary spatulas just aren't wide enough, which in turn will result in fish fillets breaking in the middle or at the ends when fried in a regular pan. I usually only turn fillets once when cooking them this way, but I was getting more and more frustrated with the breakage. Well, it may seem like stainless steel will mercilessly…

Pros
  • Stainless steel handle and head
Cons
  • Communication with seller
