We bought this without fully understanding how it works. We just bought brand new Calphalon pans, and as with all quality non-stick pans, you must avoid all aerosol spray cooking sprays (they will ruin your pans). Use only olive oil (or the oil of your choice) and air. I was pretty cautious at first as you have to use the cap to manually pressurize the atomizer. But it worked really well for us.
