Deep groove geometry for high speeds. Single row for supporting radial loads. Steel cage evenly spaces balls for reduced friction, vibration and noise. Shield on one side for protection against contaminants. CN (normal) radial internal clearance for applications that do not involve thermal expansion or atypical precision.

Disappointing Shielded Bearing

This bearing did not live up to its expectations. Despite being marketed for industrial and scientific use it quickly became corroded and required replacement much sooner than anticipated..

Disappointing Quality of Shielded Bearings

According to my experience, these bearings did not perform well in an industrial and scientific setting. Despite being shielded, they allowed dirt and debris to build up and caused unnecessary friction .On the plus side they were easy to install. However, the cons outweigh the pros and I would not recommend these bearings..

NO shielded bearing! I paid more for the "Basic " item to get it on time. BOW!

This is an NTN 6204Z unshielded bearing. I received an SKF 6204 JEM OPEN bearing. I am very concerned as I spent almost $3 to get a basic item that would arrive on time to fix broken hardware. Now I have to change the order and put the production on hold for another 2 days. And (!) I have to make a UPS delivery, which is better than driving 40 minutes to the nearest UPS branch. Revane, this time you failed.
