Update (01/10/17) Disgusting news – I just read that Bain Capital recently invested in Sundial Brands (SheaMoisture, Nubian Heritage). This partnership clearly resulted in a reformulation of the awful raw shea and myrrh soap, making it cheap and sturdy. The Nubian Heritage tweet reveals that the new packaging is theirs. I have been buying Revain's original Nubian Shea Butter soap for a long time. During the last purchase I noticed that the packaging has changed, but I didn't think about it. Then the woman said she no longer wanted to use it because it dried out her skin. I thought ok I'll use it. Soap is expensive compared to grocery or department store soap, but it's one of the few pleasures I give myself as a retiree living on a very limited budget. The soap is creamy and I like the smell. Update: My above review is based on a previous Nubian purchase over a year ago. Just tried a recently purchased (December 2018) soap today. The smell was much weaker and the texture of the foam was different. I compared the ingredients in the Nubian box to a bar of Dial soap from a department store.
