Broke on first use

A reminder of the value of quality tools, the puller arm is broken where the o-ring is located. I would return if it didn't break!

The claws need to be changed.

Good tool but should have a lip on the end of the gripper to allow for smaller gaps. I had to turn it into stock to make enough room to climb over it. Otherwise works as described, hence 4 instead of 5 stars.

Worked great after modification

My pilot bearing had a 15mm bore so I ordered it thinking I could make it work. With a little bit of sanding on the back of the jaws and very little on the front, I got the jaws to fit the 15mm inner diameter. Pulled the thrust bearing out in no time.

Worked great and was new.

I know they can be rented at auto parts stores. Everything I have tried to rent (and this was 3 times) they were all abandoned and ruined. Couldn't get the bearing off. The edges on the tool are rounded. Bought it and it worked the first time. Now I have it and I know it will always be in my tool box.

Solid puller for puller sets

I used this to pull the original spindle bearings out of a 1940's Buffalo Forge drill press. Their inner diameter is 17mm and I had to file the legs a bit. A lot of meat is left over. After soaking in penetrating oil, the bearing came out after a few moderate pulls with an OTC slide hammer. Don't panic when you see the withdrawal sleeve. It accepts 5/8" and 3/4" puller threads. .

Pulled the bearing, had to pull it out.

I was restoring an old 1950's drill press and needed an inner bearing puller and got it. All threads are NFT (National Fine Threads). So if you need to make an adapter, remember that these are fine threads. I had to make an adapter because I didn't have a suitable demolition hammer. I did this with coarse thread at first not knowing it was fine thread until I got it. Once I made the correct adapter, these bearings popped out with no problem.

1/2 to 5/8 adapter 1 3/4 slide hammer adapter too short to 5/8 piece

Update: Fits 5lb OTC slide hammer, problem was buying a 1 3/4 slide adapter adapter, it's too short. Original: I love that you can feel the quality of the instrument. As mentioned in the post, the inside fits two sizes, however the 5/8 part barely bites in like the threads are wrong. The slide hammer is OTC, I hope it lasts, but if I were to buy another I would choose an OTC branded puller, not sure but I think it will fit better. Planning to manufacture OEM puller adapter with OTC slide…
