Enjoy this sharp blade!

I received a used band saw and it was having trouble cutting a log of dried elm. I used this Olson blade and like magic the log turned into planks. I'm a beginner so I haven't tried more complex blades. I can see the weld and it doesn't look bad to me.

Just lazy - now I'll probably try to carve something too thin with this one

Works good and true. fractures and cross sections. Should have switched to this earlier in the project where the 1/2" width would have kept the smaller blade from breaking. Just laziness - now I'll probably try to cut a little too thin with it!

Pros
  • This is amazing

  • Almost never

WRONG SIZE SENT TO Power Tool

Poor quality control from order to delivery. Box opened, blade unwrapped and fitted onto my 12" Craftsman which fits an 80" blade. Big surprise! Way too big! I found a label on the box that says 105 inches. When I rolled it up for repacking/return I can say the blades are SHARP. I will rearrange and revise this review as needed.

The ideal saw blade for sawing the workpiece

For sawing thick walnut wood into thinner boards. Nice straight cuts but rough so it was necessary to leave enough material for planing and then sanding to get the desired thickness. This is not a finishing blade. It is also a very aggressive blade so care and experience with a band saw is required. All in all the best saw blade I have ever used.

Pros
  • Hands-free work
Cons
  • Small parts

Finally I can saw

I bought a saw blade with 6 teeth per inch and thought I could cut but it didn't work. I bought this knife and it cuts really well. I believe it's a combination of hook blade and 3tpi. I have an old hand band saw and wanted to upgrade it, but now I'll keep it longer. The saw is rough, you need to sharpen or level it, but now I can do book selection projects.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Unsafe

I will get more of this.

OMG! I love this blade. Like a knife through butter. To be honest I wasn't expecting much from this purchase but I was blown away by the performance. I disassemble pallets and use a bandsaw to cut rails and boards that aren't of the quality I need for assembly, so I'm very picky about my saw blades. It hacks them with no problem.

Pros
  • Bandsaws

Very strong, fast clipper, excellent blade

I needed a coarse (3 pitches per inch) blade for cutting small logs and heavy branches. This blade will surely make short work of them all. But with coarse teeth I sometimes lose my grip and the blade grabs the log, twisting it and jamming. My fault, I can't blame either the blade or the saw; But the good news is the blade is slightly bent but not broken and even with some new curves it still cuts great.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Damaged

Great blade for the money. Good value for money.

Olson FB23180DB 1/2 x .025 x 80 inch HEFB Band 3 TPI Hook Saw (Pictures coming soon) Summary: Great blade at a good price (about $10 at time of review). Suitable for homeowners and semi-professionals. Discussion: Bought for sawing maple and general store use. He worked like a pro on a saw that was used professionally in a sailboat repair shop before I bought it. I was able to cut over 7" maple with relatively straight lines and clean cuts. Pros: - Affordable price - Sharpness - Stability. Cons:

Pros
  • Tools & Household
Cons
  • Out of fashion
