Excellent camera for photo and photography

I had an E-510 and this camera is no worse than the E-510 in a smaller body. It takes amazing photos and the lens bayonet mount is fantastic. Great digital SLR camera. I highly recommend this camera if you are on a budget and need a camera that compares to more expensive Nikon or Cannon models.

Pros
  • Excellent price

Wrong camera but I like it anyway.

When I bought this camera I was expecting an E420 but they sent me an E410. So I can't give a 100% accurate review of the E420 as I didn't get what I bought. But since both are basically the same camera, based on my experience with the E410 I can say that this is a very good camera.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Only available in black

Enjoying with old Zuiko lenses

I just bought the body and a cheap adapter (from Amazon) and am using it with a collection of old Zuiko lenses that I have for my Olympus manual cameras (from the 70's ) have. None of the automatic settings work (and the ap and ss settings seem to be swapped) but after a few days of experimenting I got used to it and now (2 years later) I still love using it to create beautiful digital photos create.

Very happy with E420

Just got my E420 from Revain a week ago and I love it. Thank you Revain for the great service and great price to boot. Having been a huge 35mm enthusiast many years ago I wanted to get back into photography but of course on the digital side. The E420 is my first DSLR and I am blown away by the versatility and quality of the photos I take with it. I don't think there is a better entry-level DSLR for the price. It struck me that this is one of the seven cameras nominated for 2008 Camera of the…

Excellent camera the best among DSLRs

I buy two or three cameras a year. I doubted this camera because it doesn't have image stabilization. But I recently took it to Europe and got some great shots in churches and museums. I set the ISO to 800 and got very clear handheld shots. The size is fantastic. Very light and small. Live view works great although focus is slow. Focus very quickly in non-live view mode. In order to explore all the options, you will have to spend quite a bit of time. But in most cases you can learn how to use…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Olympus E420: digital cameras

I am still in the process of operating this camera as it is my first camera. Right now it's perfect for my amateur eyes and great for learning photography and working with a digital camera with a single SLR lens. The camera is small, but not small enough to fit in a cargo pocket. It's easy to use if you always shoot in auto mode or on mode. I mostly shoot in manual mode so it's a bit tricky to figure out. It's been about two months now and this camera has really helped me understand the whole…

I fell in love.

I fell in love with the Olympus E-420 and two prime lenses, a 25mm pancake and a 50mm f2.0 lens. After many years of photography up until the 1960's this camera satisfied my craving for some elements of the old way. The compact size, light weight, prime lenses, high quality and ability to shoot with the feeling that the camera and I are one is great. The pancake lens is so comfortable and easy to use that I'm willing to overcome its imperfections - that's more than enough. And the 50mm lens is…

  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Great camera, surprisingly small!

I've had this camera for a few months now and am completely satisfied with the look, feel, size and quality. Let's start by saying that this camera is really small! I always knew it was advertised as the smallest in the world but it really is that tiny! When used with a pancake lens, this camera can be carried in a jacket/coat pocket all day and is a great tool for street photography. I also have an E-510 and apart from the lack of Image Stabilization I would say that this camera is a huge…
