Causes cloudy water

Has a pleasant fishy smell, seems to be liked by turtles. But they prefer Mazuri turtle food and Zoo Med Reptisticks swimming turtle food. He swims, but that makes the water cloudy. Therefore, contrary to the advertised properties, I cannot use it in the aquarium, hence the 3 stars. The ingredients sound good, so I'll keep feeding him, but only on land and in a bowl.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Purity

Possibly one of the best commercial turtle feeders

Possibly one of the best commercial turtle feeders but I wish it had more vegetation than algae. It's very high in protein so not suitable for adult turtles except for occasional feedings and I hate the fact that they use ethoxyquin as a preservative when there are so many healthy natural alternatives. that's why I only gave 3 stars. At least no soy or corn.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Shorter line than other feeders

My 1 year old musk turtle loves Omega One!

I started giving her brood pellets when she got too big on the brood pellets she was bringing with her. Now she is about 10 months old and she is eating very well! She prefers pellets to all treats. UPDATE: She's been eating this so well for two months and loves them just as much. She's quite small, but it's still a good pellet size for her coat. She eats about 8 pinches and prefers crispy. It doesn't soften quickly.

Best Turtle Food

This is my favorite turtle food ever! I love the diet it gives my turtle and it has whole ingredients instead of just "food". She actually feeds on this food. With all other brands (e.g. Wardley) she still stays hungry after feeding and I have to constantly replenish her. With this food I supplement the main food for their pleasure (e.g. bugs, forage fish). I have been buying this food for over 10 years and have a large beautiful turtle that is very healthy. Highly recommended.

Possibly the best turt food out there.

I have two 30 year old turtles in my outdoor pond. I've had these little ones since childhood so they are my closest pets. For most of their lives they have been fed koi or goldfish, using a few crawlers as treats. I have tried various foods over the past few years with some success, Reptomin has proven to be better than the goldfish food they were previously feeding. One turtle was happy with Repashy Savory Stew Gel and another didn't like it at all. I've recently tried Omega One sticks and I…

False advertising is best in "Fish and Aquatic Animals "

I was impressed by the comments from other buyers. I also bought this for my red-eared slider (4 years old). She's a picky eater but settled on these tiny pellets like it was the thing! It hasn't even been a month since I gave her this formula and I'm disappointed. The granules are quite small and dissolve quickly. My tortoise will consume about a tablespoon a day but it's too much of a waste of this product to satisfy her. Dissolved product changes the water and makes the tank look pretty…

New/Different Formula

I've been feeding a box turtle Omega One Adult Turtle Sticks for two years. When I last reordered, a container with a different packaging turned up. Upon closer inspection, the formula name appears to be different, and the ingredients are slightly different. The new formula removes halibut and adds more plant-based proteins instead. The ingredient analysis looks about the same, with 2% more moisture in the new green marked feed. If it's a direct food replacement, I'm not too happy with the…

Good Stuff.: Food

Let me start by saying that this is a great food for any adult pet turtle. My red-eared slider has been with me for about 9 years and while she is not fussy and will usually eat anything her age appropriate, I prefer to feed her good quality turtle food. Most other commercial cheaper turtle foods start with fishmeal as the first ingredient, and some others even use soybean or wheat flour as the first ingredient as the base for pellets. Omega One uses whole salmon, herring and cod, with whole…
