It will work for you until you are ready to upgrade it

The device is working properly. However, skill is not enough. Mine was oddly bent when I received it and one of the top fittings was leaking from being twisted on its counterpart. I fixed it with teflon tape. It also needed cleaning inside. If you are on a budget and are not helpless, this device will suit your needs. Keep in mind that it takes a few bottles to get into a rhythm, so expect a mess when you first use it.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Works better than plastic

I took this in desperation as a new cider maker with a plastic version that had to be pressed to flow. This works reasonably well in auto-off mode, however it "leaks" after release (placed in a second bottle during processing). The stainless steel auto-trap is actually large, 1/2 inch, but fits snugly within the outer case and seals well. Very easy to clean and the included brush gives you peace of mind.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Will be used for next batch

It was easy to disassemble/reassemble and worked with no leaks when I was bottling cider today. I've attached it to the end of a hose that connects to a spigot on a bucket and haven't had any functional issues. The only issue I had was that the volume of this wand was a bit larger than I expected. I filled each bottle to the neck, and when I removed the stick, the 16-ounce bottle had about 2-2.5 inches of headroom. I was expecting the free space to be closer to 1 inch. problems, only worth…

Works once you get the hang of it

This unit works but I also had to buy a gas line splitter as I didn't expect both your keg and bottle filler and keg to be pressurised . Make sure you have it before proceeding. The instructions are useless as they are very poorly translated from Chinese - they include a link to a YouTube video that is a bit more descriptive but has no English at all. Be warned - it needs to be cleaned before use, and the device itself is full of sharp edges that can cut your hands if mishandled. After figuring

Filler works as advertised

I would like to retract my negative review on this product. I previously wrote that this filler creates too much foam when pouring and gave it 1 star. As it turns out, the bottling works fine, and my counter-current bottling technique was wrong. After my negative review, I did a lot of research on how to make a pressure bottle. 3 things to remember when bottling with a counter flow filler like this product: 1. Bottles and beer must be cold (34-36F)2. The CO2 pressure fitted to the filler and…

Okay, but the hose barbs could be better.

In general, I like it. It works as intended. Easy to clean/use etc. The only thing I can fault is the notched hardware. Although they are made of stainless steel, the quality is not very good. The ridges along the beard that ensure a proper seal are smooth and indistinct. Because of this I had to put some clamps on the hose connected to the fittings to prevent leaks. This isn't as important with a liquid line, as the inner diameter of the Bev tube is a bit narrower and the liquid has a higher…

Great for home brewing! Continue reading.

I switched to this bottle filler from the regular plastic variety for my homebrew. The build and engineering quality is impressive. Disinfection was easy and involved removing the mechanism and soaking in Star-San. There are a few tiny parts inside, so don't lose any of them. I've read that people have had trouble filling bottles the way they like because of the 3/8" tubing. I've had no trouble with it. As you can see in the photo, my homebrew (left ) and commercial (right) bottles from Sierra…

Affordable and effective tool for homebrewers

The bottling phase of homebrewing is the second most enjoyable part of the brewing process, if only because it's the last real action you take before enjoying your beer ( which is the most enjoyable aspect of the homebrewing process!). This tool is extremely simple - a thin metal tube (3/8"x14") is open on one side and has a spring-loaded tip. on the other end. The kit includes a sanitizing brush to clean the inside of the tube and a 6-foot food-grade plastic tube. On the day of bottling, you…

Helps prevent bacterial infections

I brew a new beer almost every weekend. When the judges at a homebrewing competition severely reduced my grade due to an apparent bacterial infection, I began to investigate the cause. It turned out that the plastic bottle filler I had used the most over the past 18 months had managed to contain some bacteria. I spent several evenings opening bottles from different batches and finding the most contaminated one. Each contaminated batch spilled out of the bottle, like in those Diet Coke and…
