Defective/Damaged

I had this wetsuit for 2 surf sessions and the seam was already torn. O'Neill will not accept returns for damaged or defective products that were not purchased directly from them. Super bum and will now buy from another company.

Must have horse legs to fit size XL

XL Fits anywhere on my 6'0 190lb frame EXCEPT my hips. I don't have the biggest hips. But my god, it looks like the horse wore that wetsuit in front of me. But only in the thighs! Literally 4 inches of sag in my hips. Tight on calves, chest, arms. But dangles free on my hips. My family jewels are almost frozen. 🥴😂 Maybe the seller sent me a used suit. Or maybe they expect xl to have horse thighs.

Great value wetsuit! Worth the money

perfect fit! I'm 6'1" and have a medium rise like it was made especially for me (I'll post my measurements to help people like me who are on the hunt for sizes). The collar seal was very effective and hardly leaked through the zipper or seams. Overall a great product for the money. Highly recommend for a budget wetsuit. My measurements are: Neck: 15.5" Chest: 37" Sleeve: 34" Waist: 32" Inseam: 34" Weight: 155 lbs.

Soft neoprene perfect for HI

I recently went to HI and my old wetsuit fit but the neoprene is stiff. I bought another version of this costume for my family. Worked great. Suits are relatively cheap compared to Scubapro. They worked great. Keeps us warm from morning to night. The neoprene was stretchy. I liked the 3/2 configuration which allows for more arm/leg flexibility. I'm not cold diving and neither is my wife - we both felt comfortable.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

  • Lots of stuff

Good value, true to size

This suit is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something a little warmer than my 1mm suit, but not something too thick and inflexible like some 3mm full wetsuits. The Reactor consists of a nice mix of flexible materials and is extremely comfortable to wear. It's not heavy or bulky at all. I'm 5ft 10", 165lbs and average fits me perfectly. I tailor each medium-sized specification to exacting standards. I can easily zip up the suit myself. It appears to be a quality suit for the price.

Fits well and works well at rated temperatures

Here in the Bay Area, mid-summer sea temperatures reach 55F. I would like to have. Wetsuit for beach days so I can spend more than a few minutes in the water. This is a great suit for that purpose. Easy entry and exit. Depending on the local water temperature I think this would also be a good suit for surfing. There are always new materials coming out that are marketed as "more resilient", "less restrictive" etc for surfing, but I think materials have improved so much across the board over the…

Hey O'Neill THE LOCK WILL NOT HOLD

As with many other bad reviews on this suit I have the same complaint. Lightning doesn't level up. Seriously, O'Neill? Well it's a joke. I have bought many wetsuits over the years. Some were really cheap nameless brands and even they could keep the zipper in place. I gave 2 stars because I love the fit. The armpits are smooth and do not cause rashes during long sessions. I feel like a wooden toy doll pulling my rope all the time while surfing. So disappointed. I remember when O'Neal was a good…

I can't wait to try on this new O'Neill 3M/2M suit. Fits perfectly!

Fits perfectly. The leash to the zipper is the perfect length. Cuffs on sleeves and ankles feel very small when water gets in. I already felt like my body was staying warm without leaving the suit, so I'm confident again that I won't be shaking at 25 and 30 feet. I'll be reporting back after my first free dive in weeks at Lake Ouachita at Blakely Mountain Dam. I had a Dark Lightning 3mm wetsuit last year and swam like a cork. If you snorkeled I think it would be good as you wouldn't have to…

Just a note on my competence and experience. I have been surfing Socal longboards for 55 years and have tried dozens of wetsuits from most major brands. I'm easy to please, but hard to pick up. Received my O'Neill 3/2 Reactor 2 today and found the materials very good and well put together. I was a bit reluctant to order an O'Neill based on past experience years ago when O'Neills were apparently made for tall, slender people (which I'm not), but I couldn't turn down the price ( 1/3 the cost of…
