I love oks but.

Great product but with one caveat. On some of my framed photos I found the hook part too small to reach the appropriate hanger. If your hangers are recessed into the frames, these hooks may not work. But they are easy to hang, they leave the smallest holes in your walls, they are durable and well made. Excellent line of products.

The best picture hangers!

Amazing picture hangers! Safe, durable, easy to use. Leaves only the smallest holes in drywall. I was able to safely hang a very large, heavy mirror after painting the room. This is what Master originally used to hang the mirror and I've been looking for more. I will never use anything else to hang framed pictures on the walls again.

Extremely bad nail design!

The advantage of ooks is that they "do not damage your walls". This was indeed the case, BEFORE OK unfortunately decided to change the design of the included nails from small handy 1″ long nails to huge 1.5″ nails which would certainly damage the walls and would be difficult to insert and remove. How sad that a great product was ruined by changing the design of the product.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Some bugs

Too thick! Will not work with old Ook hooks

Too thick for use with old Ook hooks. The beauty of the ancient Uks lay in the extreme thinness of the nails. I bought these to use with my old ooks and wasted my money. I might as well buy cheap hooks and nails because they both made big holes in the walls. (By the way I contacted Ook and they no longer make thin nails. There is a thin black steel nail from Lowes)

Everyone should use it

Despite the high cost, Ook is worth it. They do the least harm to a wall of anything I've tried for hanging art. If you are renting an apartment this is especially important as you don't want to damage your walls and risk what comes out of your deposit. I run an apartment building and recommend them to all my tenants. Best of all, they are durable (the nails appear to be titanium) so they can be reused.

I switched to OOK hooks

Somewhere I read an article from This Old House about using OOK hooks and was inspired to try them to hang a heavy painting on drywall. They worked great and I've been looking for the OOK brand ever since. This neat tin is a handy way to keep your hooks organized, but it's pricey for 20 basic hooks. When re-ordering, I'll probably look more towards something like the OOK Picture Hanging Set 50918 Professional Picture Hanging Set, holds up to 17 frames.

Pros
  • Looks great
Cons
  • General

My favorite picture hangers. I lived in 4 houses once in 3 years - these professional grade hooks are amazing because you can pull them out of the wall with just a tiny hole and use them over and over again. Always buy these and not the cheaper everyday OOK hooks - they have a thicker nail and the head of the nail is harder to remove from the wall if you ever want to move. Note that they work best for pictures that have picture wire on the back - they are not usually suitable for small sawtooth

Worth the extra cost; much less damage to drywall.

Like most people, I've used cheap "silver" picture hangers my whole life and just assumed it was normal when it came time to remove the hanger, there would be a jagged hole to repair in drywall; not a huge hole, but big enough to be visible even after filling up. I ran out of paint to touch up the walls we were going to hang some new photos on and thought I'd try these OOK hangers as they claim you'll just have a small hole in the wall when you remove them. Of course when we placed the hangers…

Pros
  • Wide range

  • So-so
