Essential for users with multiple hard drives

I've been using them for a few years now and was just about to leave a review. So far I haven't had any problems with them. I have found that some hard drives fit tighter than others which can cause problems when removing if the door is not handled carefully. The WD drives seem to fit best and come out fairly easily. My Seagate hard drives are very tight and must be pulled out carefully to avoid overloading and breaking the door or hard drive eject latches. The construction is okay for the most

Worked fine for about a week

When I was upgrading my computer, I decided it was time to install a dual 3.5" bay that not only has an LED indicator for each fed drive had, but also another indicator showing that it is being accessed. I especially wanted a device that "locks up" the SATA connectors, since a loose cable is often the last thing on people's mind when troubleshooting. As a completely closed device, installation is simplified and gives the impression of a "complete" device. Everything worked fine for about a week

Well! Finally the solution I wanted.

Tried this case with a full size 3.5" Western Digital Blue 1TB hard drive, works! It fits well without scratching the sides when inserting and removing. 2 .5" SSD Samsung 860 EVO installed in an Orico 1125SS drive tray works! This product is well made and the on/off switch is a nice touch. Also shut up that the 1125SS is made of plastic and affects the temperature of the drive Obviously this is not a problem see picture and it copies a large amount of data under load. Does an SSD overheat in a…

ORICO makes a useful product

ORICO, a company I had no idea about, has a pretty useful (and strictly attractive) solution for a 3.5-inch Hard drive housing developed that suits me needs. The LED is pretty bright but I used masking tape to cover it with tape. The drive rack itself has a slightly loose hinge and some slightly longer drives may not fit in this particular drive rack. This is also great for testing a secondary operating system or migrating large files directly to disk. Aside from a small loop issue, this…

  • High marks from testers for support and durability

Inserting and removing 3.5 " SATA drives

I have too many old hard drives. I rarely throw them away and use the old ones to secure the new ones. To tell you about my hard drive collection, I recently cleaned out and threw away the 500MB hard drive (yes, megabytes, no typo.) This rack is the perfect solution to being able to pop in a hard drive for a quick scan, backup, whatever, or file recovery from someone's old, dead computer. I have mostly WD and Seagate drives and the insert/eject mechanism works great with them. There is a lever…

  • So far so good

Disappointed in a brand I trust

Update: After removing the tray and examining it I found I could help eject it if needed. It takes an uncomfortable amount of force to push the disc out of the joints. This appears to be partly due to the very narrow ports, but also partly because the drive slides sideways and gets caught on the rails. As a result, the door bends a lot. The eject lever and link lever are metal, but the door and the mounting hole on the door are plastic. I'm keeping it but don't expect it to last long. First…

  • Same as all so far

Almost perfect - hard to free the disk.

This is a good product. This allows me to quickly switch hard drives on my PC. Now I can run two separate operating systems and a software application on the same PC. My daughter does graphic design and other content creation that requires old software on Windows 7. I use Windows 10 as my daily driver. I didn't want to bother with software dual boot as I really wanted to separate OS and application sandboxes. This product was the perfect solution for me. When my daughter wants to create…

Worked fine for about a week

When I was upgrading my computer, I decided it was time to install a dual 3.5" drawer that not only had an LED indicator for each powered drive, but also had another indicator, indicating that it was accessed. SATA connectors "snap into place" as a loose cable is often the last thing on your mind when troubleshooting. The fully enclosed box simplifies installation and gives the appearance of a "finished" box. a week or so. Then I noticed that the top hard drive activity LED was not lit. I…
