My husband recently upgraded his phone from S5 to S10+. He had an Otterbox for S5. The first night he dropped it from chest height onto hard cement. I was sure his phone would break, but it didn't. In the few years he's had a phone, he's frequently dropped it from different heights onto different types of surfaces and never had a problem.
