The small hand vacuum pump does not work properly and neither does the vacuum seal. It is possible to pump for a long time without results as it is very difficult to see a result (bag collapse) due to the small volume of the pump. The plastic valve is removable and I could never see the details well enough to understand their function. It doesn't work and it's impossible to diagnose the problem.

I received this product and it looks promising. I've wanted to buy something for sous vide cooking for a long time. After receiving it, I put a small object in one of the pouches and start pumping the air out. Just as the air was almost completely out of the bag, the pump handle fell loose as I pulled it out. It seems that the pump is not powerful enough to withstand the resistance created by creating a vacuum in the bag. Too bad, because the product seemed very promising.

That's ease of use. This was my first time using sous vide and this set came in very handy when cooking fish. The pouches were strong, which helped attach them to kitchen utensils. Cleaning up after use was easy once you turned the packs inside out, which was a bit difficult due to the rigidity of the pack. Of course I want rigidity so this is not an issue. I was excited to try these bags with my sous vide machine but quickly found them to be awkward to use. The pump must be properly aligned with the valve and pumped many times to achieve good vacuum. The bags themselves are durable, but reusability is an issue. If any food touches the breakable valves it's game over, throw away this bag or you'll find it leaking the next time you try to use it again! I bought this for my sous vide. There is no vacuum. So far I've used it for pork chops, steaks and brisket. The steaks continued to breathe. The pork chops were ok but still didn't stay sealed. I think the breast absorbed water (or maybe it was just a lot of fat, which in this case is my fault) but still hasn't stayed in the vacuum. Air always comes in. I tried both pack sizes. I have used these bags a few times with my new Joule and love the reusable sous vide cooking bags. However, I would wish that the large pockets were wider and a little larger. I rarely use smaller bags. I tried using white zip ties to seal the pockets but didn't find these white zip ties as effective. Instead, I used my fingers and hand pressed down to make sure the bags were sealed. Most of the time the vacuum pump worked to empty the bag but as another reviewer mentioned care must be taken to
