Very high quality unit. Well done. You all .

Very high quality device. Well done. All it takes is 4 years at MIT to set it up! The instruction manual consists of 126 pages. This will serve much more than my purpose, but it might come in handy in the future when I move it from my van to my house. After 12 minutes of waiting, no service technician could be called. You know the story! Would buy again and hire ANOTHER electronics specialist alongside me to help me set up.

Flex Max charge controller tech support terrible item

I had to buy this because my FM80 died. I've been trying to service it for 3 months with no success. I bought it because it's the same size, fits my panel easily, and is easy to set up since the wiring is the same for it and the FM80. I never used the FM80 as I never added any more panels. The device works fine, but since the customer service is so bad I can only hope nothing happens to him.

Pros
  • Sturdy build

  • Long delivery time

It does its job very well!

My Outback MX60 controllers eventually broke and showed their age. The FM60 controllers are nearly identical in terms of form factor and mounting holes. The only minor issue is that the FM60 doesn't have a connector on the right side, so you can't plug a Mate cable into a nearby FM60 if you have two. Contrary to what one of the reviewers mentioned, this controller looks like it was recently made and in the box was a Q&A sheet from a month or two ago. I hooked it up to my home PV system and it…

Great product: generators and portable power supplies

Outback is a great company. I ordered components for my solar system before I actually had the system developed. I didn't understand at all what I need. This Outback is ideal for small installations. Automatically detects battery and system voltage. I like how the Outback works on my system. It's worth every penny. After building and installing my system, I realized there was a better way to maximize panel performance. I'm still using the Outback, but this Outback can only handle 150VDC. Do…

Works perfectly! on Energy Controllers

If you need an MPPT charge controller, look no further. This 60 amp charge controller can generate all the power you need. Just make sure you use #2 AWG wire from the junction box to the terminals and the units will work like a well-oiled machine. If you have questions about dimensions or panels, don't call Outback. I had a few new questions that I know aren't related to using the charge controller, but they were very rude on the phone so I decided not to call them again. On the other hand, it…

FM60 works very well even in hot climate

Last week I took the FM60 to Haiti (20th parallel). It was very hot and muggy. Connected to 8 x 190 watts 26v nom. Solar panels (4 connected in series, multiply by 2). The FM60 was very easy to set up and started charging right away. We used a 24 V battery (8 x 6 V, approx. 5 kWh). We needed more batteries as they charged very quickly. We also use a 3.5kW 24V inverter from batteries. We've outfitted it with heavy weights like a 3/4hp booster pump, a Grundfos downhole pump, a big miter saw and a
