Deluxe Schooler Equestrian Helmet by Ovation Review

I used to have this helmet but lost it when I moved. I've had my old one for at least five years so it's probably long overdue for it to be replaced. This is by far the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn, even on long warm weather days! I don't have horses anymore so I don't ride as much as I used to, but when I rode it held up perfectly to the daily trail rides! Damn, sometimes I forgot I was wearing it! As rude as it may sound, my daughter has a very round head. She honestly understands this, but because of this, wearing her Troxel helmet became a nightmare. The Ovation Schooler Helmet fits like a glove, creates no extra pressure points, and doesn't slip or bounce while riding. They ordered from Bely, but I was afraid of dirt (she's 9, after all, and barns aren't famous for cleanliness). However, it turned out that a simple wipe is enough and it shines like new again. At the moment we love it.

Excellent helmets but SMALL. My daughter's head size is 54.5cm (21.5") so the S/M helmet should fit her perfectly as the helmet should fit a 52-56cm head but even in the largest Size is too tight so she gets headache when wear it. My own head is 54 cm (21.25 in) and fits well in the largest size (I can shake my head and it doesn't fall off even without the chin strap attached). I had to order a size up to fit. Otherwise these are great helmets and I highly recommend them.

This helmet was bought for my 3.5 year old son, his head is 50cm and when I adjusted it to the smallest size it fit perfectly. I was torn between buying a very small/small or small/medium helmet, but I'm glad I went with the smaller helmet. A little more than half a year ago it can no longer be tightened. This is with light use (about 2x a week) UPDATE: In my previous review I said I could still use it and I did. But slowly and surely the dial fell apart and now (a year after the dial first fell out) there is nothing left on it except for two pieces of plastic on the side that cling to the hair. Decided to bite the bullet and get my daughter my own riding helmet instead of keeping it! After a lot of research I honestly got stuck between this brand and Troxel. My daughter had just attended a camp where they had Ovation helmets to borrow so we kind of cheated and I knew the S/M size was right!
