Have not used the ice cream scoop but it was dispatched quickly and arrived as described. Bought this for my mom who swears by a metal shovel (no plastic etc). I hope it will last 7 years like our last one which recently survived its last day.

This is my second OXO ice cream scoop. The first one broke after a few years. They perfected the shape of the shovel to what I think is the ideal shape. Shows that someone has really thought long and hard about how the form should be for optimal functionality. Like most OXO products I've tried, it's very comfortable to hold, excellent ergonomics. I would definitely buy it again.

I requested the scoop pictured on a site called Goggles. The picture showed a square end with corners on each side and it was what my daughter wanted. When it arrived it looked like the actual picture and I sent it back thinking it was a mistake. Reordered and got the same thing again, so sent it back. After using spoons all the time and bending them over hard ice cream, I bought an OXO Good Grips Points ice cream scoop. This is an amazing shovel and I prefer the tip over a fully rounded shovel because it grips the ice better and makes shoveling faster. The only thing I would say I don't like; The handle is removable, so water leaked after the first 2 washes in the dishwasher. Then I pulled the handle and found it came off immediately.
