A good thermometer BUT NO OVEN!

Home Cooking Magazine recommended this item BUT makes no mention of it not being oven safe. It wasn't even mentioned in the AMAZON description. Sent back and bought a different item.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • weak

Not exactly. suitable for meat

All you need is a simple, easy-to-read thermometer that gets the job done and doesn't require batteries. OXO just doesn't keep the usual quality. Ice water represents 35 and boiling water represents 206 at 1300 feet above sea level.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • Expandable

snap. - Kitchen and dining room

I didn't like the sharp movement of the arrow when the temperature of the meat rises. I have a feeling it's not working properly. I'm used to the thermometer needle sliding better. Really surprised, I usually love everything OXO.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Older model

Do not buy! works well for thermometers and timers

I ordered 2 of these and the first broke I ordered 2 - the first broke in the oven although the instructions say it could in the oven push, the second does not work at all. I'm tired of going to USP. someone help me Y

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Batteries No.: Kitchen Appliances and Gadgets

Tired of changing batteries on digital thermometers. I ventured back to analog thermometers because back then it took forever to get a reading. It exceeded my expectations. Reading comes quickly. Almost as fast as some of my digital thermometers. Worth the money spent.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • It's hard to remember, but it was

Inaccurate Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

Something is wrong with this thermometer. I cooked 4 full sized boneless chicken thighs at 400 for 40 minutes (even though the package said 20 should be cooked) and yet was told they were only at 140. WTH? I ended up cutting up the meat to check and it was clearly done. The thing is definitely over.

Pros
  • Stable Test Results
Cons
  • No

Useless! for meat

If I could give this zero stars I would. It's useless. It's not an instant read, at least not exactly. I could never get it over 120 degrees? I've used an inexpensive Pyrex thermometer for many years and always get good results. After several years of service, the button on the old one stopped working for me, so I ordered this Oxo. Big mistake. Don't waste money. Useless!

Pros
  • well built
Cons
