Because of the construction, the cheese, which isn't very hard, gets stuck and I have to take it out and turn it in the direction to grate. If you just grate parmesan that's fine, but if you want to make cheddar etc don't waste your money. Too heavy.

I'm buying these because my boyfriend has seen me using mine and wants one too. I read someone's comment about softer cheese. Well it is what it is, softer cheese requires a little more work. Big thing! Still better than old fashioned when you peel the skin off the knuckles. Mine works great and I get another one for honey!
