Bought for a trip to Hawaii, the camera has done it all.

Bought for my trip to Hawaii, the camera met all my expectations, now I'm returning with my new wife and daughter and I'm glad to have this camera for my next trip

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Negative experience

Panasonic HX-WA10 old model! This is indeed a Sanyo VPC CA100

SAME camera as the 2010 Sanyo model. Sanyo is being sold to Panasonic, or maybe it could be a parent company, something like that. Check the Sanyo website, the Panasonic HX-WA10 is indeed an old model Sanyo VPC-CA100. Since then, Sanyo has stopped making cameras. [.] [.] [.]

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Useless features

Everything I've been looking for in a rugged camcorder

I've long hoped for a waterproof 1080P camcorder. I bought it as soon as it was launched (actually a few weeks before after ordering it from Hong Kong) and I'm very happy with it. The waterproofing worked as promised and I'm impressed by the video she posted. I tested it on the rock faces and canyons of Moab, Utah and it worked great.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Annoyed

Good underwater camera

So overall I like the Panasonic HX-WA10K, it offers a wide range of options and captures good quality, but Auto-HDMI always outputs 1080i even with 720P video and menus can be disappointing, mainly because the controls are stationary and the viewfinder is rotatable, meaning you sometimes have to press the right side of the display to actually press down, so the controls take a bit of getting used to. It would be great if they were adjusted to the screen Position . But in terms of quality and…

  • Always liked
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Good specs, disappointing performance

I was very happy to get this camera but it turned out to be poor. Missed many action shots* Image quality is poor, with too much contrast. (My 8 year old Canon PowerShot takes better pictures.)* The menu system is really hard to navigate and the options don't make much sense. I wanted to underexpose photos to match his meter but couldn't figure out how to do that in 10 minutes of learning. The controls are also awkwardly arranged and difficult to use.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
