Very good budget camcorder

I've been using Panasonic camcorders for 6 years. I found the Panasonic pvgs29 very impressive. I wanted an inexpensive camcorder with high optical zoom (very important, no digital zoom) and this was what I needed. I often use it for family videos and am impressed with the video quality this camcorder produces. It comes with an AV cable which I use to connect to my TV and watch. Amazing clarity on my 1080i TV. If you're looking for an inexpensive device that delivers great recording quality…

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Crumpled

Not bad. good for camera and photo

Not a bad camera, especially for the price. I bought this Mini DV camcorder new about 5 years ago for about $300. I bought it to save hours of playback on my DVX100A (FYI: they have the same heads). I use it primarily as a FireWire digitizer. You can actually get a top-down image if you know how to use the manual features and their limitations. For people who make home videos, it is easy to use with a simple interface. It comes with a FireWire "port" despite another reviewer's comment, but may…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Very good basic camcorder

This is Panasonic's entry level camcorder but it comes with useful features such as good picture quality, 12 lux sensitivity and a whopping 30x optical zoom. I think it's perfect for everyday travel videos as well as America's funniest video appearances. It's pretty easy to use and the build quality is solid. A spare battery is a good optional accessory. You never know when a battery will die at the worst possible moment, so get a spare battery. With Dell's recent recall of 4.1 million laptops…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Security

Great camera for beginners

Just received so I'm not an expert yet. First impressions: -Easy to use, I didn't have to read the manual (just the first few pages so as not to ruin the battery) -Very good quality in low light Good zoom (30x) that allows you to shoot from a long distance Film quality: very good, but since it's my first camcorder I don't have any comparison parameters, so I'll buy a second one for my pocket just in case. Interface: It doesn't have a USB port, but it does have a FireWire port, so I can download
