If I lose 30 pounds my pants might drop a size or two. Since not all pants are created equal, these extenders have allowed me to go down and still fit all new pants.

Exactly what I expected. They are slightly larger than the ones I already have that were store bought about 10 years ago. They sit a little looser on the button so I just need to be aware of that. Otherwise, they allow me to button up my jeans with ease (until I get rid of belly fat!).

These extenders are made of flexible plastic (like rubber) that allows larger buttons to fit through the buttonhole. I had a hard plastic extension that was inflexible and too small for jean buttons, but this extension easily maneuvers over a large button.

These extenders have a flexible loop that allows you to easily attach them to your pants' original button. Some reviewers have stated that they are made of "hard" plastic, the items I have received have a hard plastic button attached to a flexible loop. They work very well for me. If you need more than one inch; may need bigger pants.

So I bought them for the obvious reason to increase the waist of my pants a bit. It obviously did what is described but loosened the pants. The first time I sat in it, I got a big hole in my butt. Since I was cheap and spent $5 on it, I actually lost a pair of $60 pants. Just buy pants that fit, it's a terrible product! Edit: After emailing support for the company that makes this product, I can tell you that I will definitely never support them again.

Funny. I bought these for a friend and thought they looked cool (and was wondering why maternity solutions are becoming available to the general public after the holidays and we've gained a few pounds). And I should have read the reviews more carefully because they are only plastic, they are not stretchy at all! Elastic would probably help/make them more useful.
