Happy waffle iron with fish.

I am very happy with this waffle maker. I tried them with cream cheese filling and the family loved them. So pretty! The fish are smaller than expected but still happy with the purchase.

Works great - kitchen and dining room

I love this car! The shape of the fish comes out very well if you put enough material into it. I also like that the edges are sharp and if you overfill the machine the excess parts will snap off to keep it looking professional.

Save Money on Small Appliances

She mainly makes fish shaped pancakes. Trying to fill and cook them at the same time didn't work. The only way to add toppings is to cut them open after cooking. You can do the same with regular pancakes and use pancake pans if you want a different shape. I have used Taiyaki Maker several times but now it is not used in my closet.

Not worth the money. It is very difficult to shape the fish without spilling the batter all over the shape. I've tried more than 30 times (thick batter, thin batter, only half fill the batter in the mold, etc.). I still haven't figured out how to make a perfect looking fish like the one on the box. I had to cut out the excess with scissors. I think the problem is that the mold isn't deep enough.

An acceptable way to prepare taiyaki at home

It is quite difficult to prepare taiyaki at home. Without a professional facility, you have many molds to put your dough in and try to get it right. A proper taiyaki should be thin on the outside and moist on the inside, but not undercooked. The problem with pans is that you can't heat both sides evenly, you can't tell when it's baking, or you can't tell how it's baking.
