When I took the star out of the box some of the rattan was missing and the sequins fell off. The star was sent in its original packaging, which was not strong enough for transport. The ends of the box were not securely sealed with tape and a hole was punched in the box. The star really feels too heavy to attach to the top of my tree and doesn't look like it would be easy to attach to the tree. Sent back for a refund.

It's only July so I haven't put it on the tree yet. I hooked it up and it looks fine. The color is silver which is what I wanted. I agree with other reviewers that it would be nice if the different lighting modes stayed set instead of being reset every time you turn it on, but the cable is long enough to do this manually. I love crowns, this will make my tree special. It's great and worth the price.

The panel looks very nice, the light is warm white enough to match the wood in the dining room we designed it for. Biggest complaint for me and it's the biggest in my book. Each time you turn it on, the standard topper automatically enters a mode that cycles through all lighting functions. All of our trees are automated for voice or timed lighting so I'm not always around to adjust the tip to my preferred function each time, which is the same as all of our lights. Okay, that's nice. I bought it because it reminded me of a German Christmas carousel mill from my childhood. My mother-in-law used to buy small metal jewelry engraved with her children's names. When they arrived: One side of the star reads "Merry Christmas" and the other side reads "Merry Christmas". I had to fix a lot of bent screws.
