Easy installation. It only lasted a few minutes. The wires were too short to reach the ignition coil so I had to hook up extension cords.

After a very long search and no one could tell me if it would work on my 1973 Datsun 620 L16 pickup you know what? so glad i can get rid of points,,,,,cool

I've installed PerTronix on all my Datsuns to troubleshoot issues and I'm very happy with the results. I find the cars start a lot easier, run smoother and even return MPG a little better. The installation instructions are good. Remember to put the rotor back into the manifold when you're done.

If you are purchasing this block to attach points to a Datsun D11 engine with a Hatachi 414 distributor be prepared that this block will not fits. This requires a significant modification. I gave it a 4 because it will work if you have the tools and know how to make the correct modifications to make it fit this engine and/or distributor.

Installation can be cumbersome. The conical screws go down and block the feed. In addition, the magnetic ring requires a lot of force to get onto the distributor shaft. I had to use old screws to attach the ignition plate and this caused annular gap problems and I lost some green tape as a result. If you fix these relatively minor issues, the system will function properly.

So I will now update my previous review. My ignitor is now blown and in the trash. Did you know that the ignition CANNOT be turned on if the engine is NOT running for more than 30 seconds? Yes, me too, until I read that online. I traced the short circuit between the column and the ignition and smoked the igniter. $75 down the toilet. Stupid design. I don't think I will buy another one. And no guarantee. If you have an old Nissan or Datsun with glasses, buy that one and toss the problem glasses…
