I have thick, curly "mixed" hair that is buttock length. Entanglements are a constant problem for me. Look I'm skeptical of many products that claim to work wonders for my hair. I have very, very thick, long, 4c, West African hair (natural or loose, lots of it) and I hated doing it. This brush was amazing! I've been a natural for 9 years and just realized my hair was NEVER fully detangled after using this brush which explains a lot! My wide-toothed comb just can't handle it. This comb glides through my hair so smoothly. Breakage is minimized by 99%. By the way, I have 4c hair. When it arrived it had a strange smell, I washed it with soap and everything was fine.

I don't know why this brush works but it does. I have thick 4c hair (if there was a 4d category it would be me) hair. It works better than my Tangle Teaser. I shed less hair and comb through faster after getting wet. The only problem I have is that the small adjustment piece on the back of the brush sometimes comes loose. If you have hair like mine, you may need to hold it while you move. I'm not deducting any stars for that. Good product.
